ERIK EKBLAD

Erik J. Ekblad joined the firm in 2008 and became a partner in 2018. His practice focuses on litigation defense in the areas of motor vehicle warranty/lemon law, product liability and general civil litigation. He has litigated thousands of cases, taken hundreds of depositions, successfully negotiated hundreds of settlements, and has obtained numerous favorable rulings on dispositive and other law and motion matters.
Erik received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University Long Beach, graduating Cum Laude in 1999. He then attended Southwestern School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2003. At Southwestern School of Law, he was a member of the Dean’s List (top 10% of class) and on Law Review where he served as the Notes and Comments Editor. Erik was also the recipient of the CALI “Excellence For The Future” Awards [Highest Grade] for Civil Procedure I, Property II, and Interview, Counseling, and Negotiation in addition to the Dean’s Scholar Award, and the University Scholarship. While at Southwestern, he was also the Co-President for the Criminal Law Society.
After law school, Mr. Ekblad practiced in Los Angeles for two years focusing on complex civil litigation, including consumer rights, employment litigation, and business litigation. He began working with the founding partners of Beatty & Myers, LLP in 2005.
When not practicing law, Erik is known to be an avid runner. He has completed numerous marathons, including those in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles.
